My work flow this particular set:

Eagle 5.10 lite (Free and robust PCB schematic and board layout editor) ->
ViewPlot -> AutoCad 2011 -> Mental Ray -> Photoshop CS5


This set of renders is my artistic rendering of 32Teeth's "SparkPlug," a sisterboard to his Sparky Jr. PWM open source project. The model is built entirely from scratch using precision data from Eagle and Viewplot. All custom materials used within ACad then sent to Mental Ray for rendering with sorted shadows on. Finally the colors are slightly adjusted in Photoshop and its tagged.

The model used here plays a small part in a big project I am currently working on. Project "Nytemare" is a highly customized, ambitious and stylish Street Fighter type custom arcade stick. Any true competitor in the sport of fighting games knows that to build one's own custom arcade stick, is to complete one's right of passage. That said, modeling to exact precision all the parts used will help me design everything and prototype ideas with realistic results. Documenting the entire process will help me share this easily for others who would like to embark on a similar right of passage. These pretty renders are byproduct of the process, as will be the custom stick configuration editor I make with the mass of completed assets

Sparky Jr. is a custom PCB board using a custom programed ATMega328 to control RGB led lights mostly in custom arcade sticks used for fighting games. This PCB has many other creative uses where RGB led lights are involved.
